The Role

An opportunity has risen for a Cleaner/Logistics operative to work as part of our Facilities Management Cleaning & Waste team.

Our Cleaning Team play a vital role in maintaining a clean and well-cared-for University. The role available includes being responsible for the day to day cleaning across a wide variety of areas across the University including offices, circulation areas, teaching rooms, toilets, etc. In addition to this, the role involves undertaking logistical collections and deliveries both on and off campus.

The Person

You will be proud of the contribution you make to a positive University environment, and be passionate about delivering excellent results. The post holder will also have a clean driving licence. Experience in Cleaning is desirable but not essential. You will be able to work with the minimum of supervision, follow specific work schedules and be able to receive and act on instructions.

The Department

The Estates Department provides a number of essential services to the University of Kent and is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the extensive grounds and buildings; the security of students, staff and visitors; transport and travel; a postal service and the telephone exchange as well as the University Design & Print Centre. It is also responsible for the buildings, new development and construction projects both at Canterbury and at our Medway campus at Chatham Maritime and on the Chatham Historic Dock Yard.
