Part-time: 21.5hr weekly - Fixed term to end June 2021

Salary: £25,837 FTE (Pro rata)
Based at Romney Marsh Visitor Centre, New Romney, Kent

The Job: The post holder will be responsible for delivering innovative ways to engage people in the cultural and social heritage found within the Scheme area and to oversee projects being delivered as part of the Fifth Continent Landscape Partnership Scheme funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
This is a part time post and the FTE salary will be pro-rata’s to reflect this.

You: will be experienced creating opportunities and activities that inspire people to develop a greater knowledge of an area’s cultural and social heritage and celebrate the area’s characters, through art, traditions, crafts and other media; Be able to demonstrate experience of the tourism industry and be knowledgeable about the use interpretation to enhance the visitor experience; Have experience in working with volunteers, including supporting skills training and informal learning. Able to prioritise your workload and be highly organised; have an enthusiastic, engaging, positive ‘can do’ attitude and a creative mind set; with a passion for sharing cultural heritage with a wide range of communities.

The Cultural Heritage Officer will work closely with the Scheme Manager, Partner Organisation’s, Communities and other key members of staff to deliver the projects, identify additional match funding opportunities and ensure all reporting to the Scheme Manager is carried out effectively. You will be based in the heart of Romney Marsh at KWT’s Romney Marsh Visitor Centre.
