DEMELZA PROVIDES SPECIALIST CARE AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH TERMINAL CONDITIONS AND THEIR LOVED ONES, ACROSS KENT, EAST SUSSEX AND SOUTH EAST LONDON.

WE HELP WITH EVERY ELEMENT OF LIFE FOR A CHILD OR YOUNG PERSON WITH A TERMINAL CONDITION BY PROVIDING TAILORED CARE. FROM DIAGNOSIS THROUGH TO END OF LIFE AND BEREAVEMENT SERVICES, WERE THERE FOR THAT JOURNEY.

Working as part of the Family Support Team, you will provide comprehensive support to children, young people and families referred to Demelza.

You will have significant experience of direct work with children, young people and families with a clear understanding of the issues which they face. You will have a qualification relevant to social work or social care, (DipSW/NVQ desirable), with a proven record of supporting families in the community setting and/or in the family home.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of organisation skills and the ability to manage and re prioritise a changing workload. You will have the ability to be flexible and adaptable in your work, with a proactive approach to problem solving. You will have the ability to safeguard the welfare and best interests of children/young people at all times, working in collaboration with other agencies.

A valid driving licence is essential for this role as you will be required to undertake travel throughout the Demelza region. Flexibility of working hours will be required, to include occasional evenings and weekend working.
