CNC Turner Setter/Operator.



To be a member of a team producing high & low volume , high precision components in most materials on seven CNC turning machines.



Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts which can be in small or large batch quantities this will include applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining operations like Turning, Milling and Grinding. Maintaining or repairing machinery to a high standard to ensure it works correctly and safely.



The key duties of the post are as follows, but not limited to:



* Calculate dimensions cut sizes to achieve required and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.



* Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders or boring machines



* Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision calibrated instruments such as micrometers.



* Set up, adjust, and operate all of the machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.



* Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.



* Carry out pre start checks and regular maintenance on machine tools



* Report any malfunction to the machinery



Experience with Fanuc controls preferable, but not essential & able to read engineering drawings.



Milling experience a bonus.



Also preferably time served.



Working hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 17:45 (39 hours)



Salary: £24,000 pa
