Application Form

Business Development Manager

Up to £35,000.00

Goudhurst, Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Bethany School

£28,000 to £35,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Maximise our income, so we can maximise our pupils’ potential.

Founded in 1866, Bethany is a registered charity and a remarkable co-educational day and boarding school. Occupying 60 acres of the magnificent Weald in the heart of the Kent countryside, we have a unique family atmosphere and nurture our 325 pupils aged 11 to 18 to develop their self-worth and tolerance for others. Supported by state-of-the-art facilities and underpinned by our Christian ethos, our students enjoy exceptional success in both examinations and extracurricular activities – and we have some very ambitious plans for the future.

Contributing significantly to the school’s strategic management, you will drive all business development activity, with particular emphasis on creating new revenue streams, raising funds and reducing costs. Notably, you will identify key audiences and create engaging communications, set and attain clear commercial goals and act as a spokesperson for the school, whilst finding innovative ways to cement donors’ loyalty and attract interest in our vital and worthwhile work.

Creating detailed strategic and operational business plans should be second nature to you, as should devising and managing high-profile events. Needless to say, you should be a seasoned business development professional with excellent customer service skills and ideally some knowledge of school or university fundraising. In particular, you should be adept at managing budgets, using CRM systems and forging long-term relationships, and you will be ready to go the extra mile to give us the funding to succeed. Finally, a formal marketing or business qualification would be useful, but it’s your ambition, tenacity and vision that will matter most.

In return, you can expect a highly competitive salary, a generous performance-related bonus and excellent benefits including Benenden Health Care and 50% off our day fees for your children.
