Waking Night Support Worker

£17,250 p.a. Pro Rata (37.5hrs FTE)

Rochester, Kent

Kent Autistic Trust

Waking Night Support Worker

We are proud to say that support workers at the Kent Autistic Trust are quite unique. We have a superb track record of successfully supporting challenging individuals including those with non-verbal communication needs and self-injurious behaviour.

We provide 24-hour support and care for autistic adults. Staff provide physical, emotional, and personal care, as well as domestic services in various settings. Some of those we support also have medical conditions including epilepsy.

Working for us often means that no two days are the same, but the care and support we give is consistently high quality, with CQC rating all of our services good, and many outstanding.

Having a background in supporting people with Autism in a previous role within a social care environment is desirable, although it isn\'t essential. What is essential is that you understand that autism can be complex and challenging and that each person we support is unique.

We seek staff who really value every person whether its the people we support, their families or carers, or other staff by respecting their priorities, needs, abilities and limits. We provide comprehensive training and assessment for new staff, and after that we continue to develop our talent through an ongoing learning and development curriculum.

Staff also need a sufficient level of fitness and be willing to participate in activities such as walking, swimming and cycling.
