Do you have previous experience in a clerical role and have the ability to use your own initiative and plan your own workload? Can you provide an accurate and efficient secretarial, clerical and administrative support in a busy office?

If so, an opportunity has arisen to join the Office of the Academic Registrar as a Clerical Assistant on a full time, fixed term basis for 12 months.

As Clerical Assistant you will:

communicate effectively and professionally on behalf of the Academic Registrar, with students, prospective students, parents, staff and representatives from external organisations
manage the Academic Registrar’s diary and schedule of work to ensure effective time management
provide support in the organisation of meetings, events and committees within the department
undertake day-to-day financial transactions such as raising purchase orders
To be successful in this role you will have:

an education to GCSE level (Grade A-C pass), or equivalent
excellent oral and written communication skills
experience of using and/or maintaining databases
good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office packages
The Academic Division has University-wide responsibility for all student and course related administration, providing a range of centralised services to the University, Departments and the Faculties.

The responsibilities also include advising University committees on academic administration processes and procedures and implementing and monitoring compliance with agreed processes and procedures.

The Division has a University-wide role for academic administration and support, in particular to provide a central service to students and staff for the accurate recording and dissemination of student data and information, to support the departments and faculties in academic-related administration and development, and to support the University executive in more informed decision-making and the formulation of policy.
