Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAF I) is a unique Christian charity using aircraft to deliver help and hope across the developing world. MAF transports patients, relief workers, produce, medical supplies and Christian workers in the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline. We operate in over 30 countries with over 130 planes.

Being a global organisation, sometimes working in very remote locations, our IT infrastructure is core to our ability to function safely and effectively. Our IT function covers a wide portfolio from programme development, development of IT infrastructure and customer support. We now have an opportunity for an experienced Applications Support Officer to join our team.

The Applications Support Officer will be responsible for 2nd and 3rd Line support for all MAFs business applications, carrying out diagnosis of issues, and solving technical and application problems.

The job holder will become the subject matter expert for business applications, addressing issues and user queries. Liaising with application owners and developers, taking ownership of incident resolutions and keeping users informed.

You will manage the roll out of application upgrades within the IT Change Management and IT Release Management processes, and to work with Project Management in delivering new business applications, ensuring all documentation is in place.

The ideal candidate will have excellent investigation and diagnostic skills, have experience in business analysis and working in an ITIL framework. It would also be desirable to have a technical understanding of software development and web design.

There is an occupational requirement for the job holder to be a committed Christian who is able to agree with and promote the Christian ethos and beliefs of MAF. The job holder will be expected to take part in and lead prayer and biblical reflection, and to be a role model for the organisation in accordance with our Christian beliefs and standards in the workplace.
